Reporting during one of the most remarkable decades in American history, Walter Cronkite epitomized the standards of excellence, following in the footsteps of perhaps the greatest reporter, Edward R. Murrow. The standards he set as a broadcast journalist continue to be the the benchmark and inspiration for every reporter whos sits before a microphone or a camera.
So here’s to you CNN, Fox News, Hannity, Combs, O’Reilly, Limbaugh, and all you “Talking Heads”, Masters of Spin”, sound byte experts who are trained to snip, cut, loop, and replay until those of us who watch are vommitting, comatose or just numb. Go Back and learn from the “Masters”, take some pride in your journalism and strive to deliver the truth, not as you see it but as the facts dictate it. Don’t attempt to change history, just report it.
